The weekend of Feb 3-5 saw a group of 14 take on the challenge of the HIMF Detox Bootcamp weekend. The 2 night stay on the Mornington Peninsula involved lots of exercise, including beach walks, a bootcamp session and pilates, and a healthy diet of “detox” foods.
Starting on the Friday night and finishing up Sunday morning, the group were challenged both physically with additional exercise to their normal routine, as well as mentally with adapting to new routines, new foods and attempting to form new habits.
At the end of the weekend, after lots of training, most had seen between 2-3.5kg weight loss! As well as this, they had a huge sense of achievement at the amount of exercise they had completed and the realisation that they could survive without caffeine, sugar, additives and all the other nasty toxins that can clog up the body. The weekend diet of vegetable stirfries and salads were surprisingly enjoyable for many!
