One of the most common things I am asked about is diet info-what, how and why to eat certain foods and supplements. This is a big issue for most people, so I am hoping to share some of my learnings and insights into the world of “healthy” eating.
Most people know that exercise and a healthy diet go hand in hand when trying to lose weight, and improve fitness. No point doing all that hard work during a session and then eating all the wrong foods and adding more calories than you’ve burnt during the session. Many studies show, as do many clients results, that exercise alone, or “dieting” alone, is never as effective as combining the two. The challenging part for most though is making the changes to their diet that will make a difference to their body shape without feeling deprived and restricted by these changes. On top of this is deciding which “diet” plan to follow-low fat, low carb, detox? There is so much mixed info out there, that it’s not surprising that most people feel overwhelmed.
I personally follow a type of low-carb eating plan, and when asked, recommend this to my clients also. I have followed this for over 10 years, and it has helped me be lean, while still giving me energy to run marathons, train with my clients every day, and think clearly enough to also study after hours of exercise. Basically it allows me to live my live as I need to, while not feeling deprived or starved. This I think should be the aim of anyone’s diet plan.
